Arrr....

When ye debate, when ye post yer thoughts on me site:

For whom are ye doing it?

Are you arguing to show your own knowledge or to lead others to understanding?

To teach or to learn? or Both?

Arr.... I've been at the helm since 5pm yesterday.... me brain's fried.

BMI means Body Mass Index; it's a number decided by your weight and your height. Higher numbers mean more excess fat on the body.

If an ice cream shop checked your BMI before selling you ice cream and prohibited the sale if you were too fat, would it be size discrimination?

Fat customers are allowed low fat frozen yogurt and if they don't like it, they can go somewhere else. I shan't aid their destructive lifestyle.

Arrr.... It appears me audience [of about a dozen on a good day] isn't too responsive to an issue such as porn. Well, if'n ye be man enough to the task, it'll be below this post for.... ever.

On to more pressing matters.

While driving me galleon down the road, a rival galleon flashed his sails at me, signaling that a patrolman was waiting up ahead. So, I checked me speed, straightened me sails, and continued on me way.

Later on in the evening, I was sailing in front of a patrolman. Ah, hell, I was drivin' me car. I was driving and me speedometer's broke, so I had to gauge me speed offa his. It was terribly tough, but even if I knew how fast I was going, I'da gone just a bit slower knowing he was there.

By changing my behavior around the cop/patrolman, am I being true to myself?

Another case:

Me mate, Blondebeard, doesn't like me pirate tongue. He's constantly asking me to 'watch yer mouth, Rocket'. So, around him, I try and curb me tongue.

Am I being true to myself by leaving out or modifying parts of my identity based on the company?

Another case:

Another mate, Long John, is prone to wild nights of drinking. When we kick our feet up, the pirate gets quite liquored up and often has trouble the next day. The problem in this situation is, the Pirate doesn't drink, only around Long John does I compromise.

Can I compromise my standards and still be true to myself?

This is a big'un, so length is accepted, just keep it concise

Arrrr... let's ruffle some cultural feathers....

Be there any harm in me, a single, middle-aged pirate, looking at pornography in my spare time? Further stipulations be I don't pay for it, I'm not married, dating, or interested in anyone, and I'm not bound by any kind of religious beliefs that would steer me otherwise.

Don't be reading into this, I'm just a pirate and this is just a website.

Arrr... it be a season of graduation, independence, and birthdays.

What is communicated by leaving someone's party to attend someone else's?

On the open seas, we consider this mildly offensive; as if to say that someone else is more important than you, so I can only attend your soiree for a short time before my presence is demanded elsewhere.

Please, landlubbers, enlighten me.
